Conjuncts संयुक्ताक्षर saṃyuktākṣara
Two or three consonants with no vowel between them are written as one cluster. Most are easy to see through: the first letter drops its upright stroke and leans on the next (स्त sta, न्त nta), or the second hangs under the first (द्ध ddha). The ones to learn by sight come first. Each card shows the letters a cluster is built from and a word that uses it. Fonts differ most here: another font may draw a cluster as half letters side by side where this one stacks them.
